Membership criteria

Welcome to facio.social, a social media, professional networking and career development platform designed and built exclusively for the global creative community.

 

While facio.social was created with an aim to reduce gatekeeping across the creative industries, to maintain the integrity of the platform and reduce spam for our users, account eligibility is subject to meeting our published membership criteria.

 

To create, manage and maintain an account on the facio.social platform, you must be from an eligible country, meet our minimum age criteria, be active within an eligible industry, and meet the specific account criteria for the type of account you want to create. 

1   Eligible countries

To create, manage and maintain an account on the facio.social platform, you must ordinary reside in one of the following countries (including overseas territories):​

Please note that you will be unable to access the facio.social platform outside of the above eligible counties (including overseas territories). Please also be aware that the facio.social platform is currently natively available only in English. 

2   Minimum age

You must be aged sixteen or over to create, manage and maintain an account on facio.social.

 

If you are the legal parent or guardian of a person who, if they were aged sixteen or over, would otherwise be considered eligible to create an account, you can create your own account and use the platform on that person’s behalf. In this circumstance, you must enter your own name while creating the account, but may change the account’s social display name and professional name. Once the person you have created an account for reaches the age of sixteen, you must contact us to transfer ownership of the account.

3   Eligible industries

Membership of facio.social is open to eligible individuals, organisations and projects that operate in or are affiliated with one or more of the following eligible creative industries:

Theatre and live performance

Film, TV and radio production

Video game development

Music production

Publishing and audiobooks

Fashion

Professional photography

Museums and galleries

Visual arts

Advertising

Professional content production

Professional design

Please be aware that you are not eligible to create an account if your work is not carried out on a regular basis, if the content and work you produce is exclusively for social media (e.g. TikTok), or if at our sole discretion, produced in an affiliate marketing or “influencer” capacity.

4   Account type criteria

In addition to meeting the above criteria, to create an account on the facio.social platform, you must also meet the specific criteria for the type of account you want to create.

 

Affiliate

 

You are eligible to create an Affiliate account if you work professionally (whether in a freelance capacity or as an employee) in an industry that supports an eligible industry (e.g. logistics, production catering, supply of materials, etc…).

 

Educator

 

You are eligible to create an Educator account if you currently teach or support the teaching of an elective (i.e. not part of any compulsory curriculum) course related to an eligible industry and to students are aged sixteen or over, or to students of any age if outside of a compulsory educational environment (i.e. performing arts schools, music classes, etc…).

 

Investor

 

You are eligible to create an Investor account if you have previously invested in a creative project within an eligible industry, or you are seeking to make an investment in a creative project within an eligible industry.

 

Media 

 

You are eligible to create a Media account if you currently work as an editor, writer, journalist, contributor, columnist or reviewer for a publication or media outlet operating within an eligible industry, or you otherwise cover an eligible industry as part of your work.

 

You will be considered eligible to create a Media account if your work is carried out in a voluntary or non-professional capacity. However, you will not be considered eligible if, at our discretion, your work is carried out in an affiliate marketing or “influencer” capacity.

 

If you work as the press contact (or in a similar capacity) for an organisation or poorest within an eligible industry, you should create a Professional account instead of a Media account.

 

New Talent

 

You are eligible to create a New Talent account if you already have some experience (including in a voluntary or non-professional capacity) within an eligible industry and are seeking to become a full-time professional within that same industry.

 

Non-Professional

 

You are eligible to create a Non-Professional account if you would otherwise be eligible to create an account if your work was carried out in a professional capacity (e.g. you work as a performer or crew member for a local amateur theatre company).

 

Professional

 

You are eligible to create a Professional account if you currently work professionally and directly within an eligible industry (whether in a freelance capacity or as an employee). Facio Creative reserves the right to switch your account type or close your account if you are not eligible for a Professional account.

 

Retiree

 

You are eligible to create a Retiree account if you would previously have been eligible for an Educator, Media or Profession account and wish to remain part of the creative community.

 

Student

 

You are eligible to create a Student account if you currently study an elective (i.e. not part of any compulsory curriculum) course related to an eligible industry or intend to do so for a minimum or 12 months.

Additional information

Account eligibility is at the sole discretion of Facio Creative, and our decision is final. Facio Creative will not enter into any discussion or correspondence regarding account eligibility.

 

In certain circumstances, we may choose not to allow you to create an account even where you are otherwise eligible. We will not make this decision without good reason, but may choose to do so in the following, but not exclusive, circumstances

 

  • We believe your use of the platform would be unlawful.

  • We believe your use of the platform would be detrimental to other users.

  • We believe you have been engaged in unprofessional conduct off the platform. This includes, but is not limited to: the mistreatment, exploitation or abuse of staff, performers, creatives and crew in any form, the enablement and/or deliberate ignorance of the mistreatment, exploitation or abuse of staff, performers, creatives and crew in any form, repeated and/or deliberate copyright infringement, unjustifiable and deliberate gatekeeping of opportunities and market access within the creative industries, discrimination, abuse or hate directed towards any party, and any other unprofessional conduct which actively stifles or harms the development of the creative industries and creative work.

 

Under our Terms of Service, Facio Creative reserves the right to terminate your account without prior notice or liability to you if we become aware of any of the above circumstances after your account has been created and approved.

 

You are not eligible to create an account for any work carried out within the adult entertainment or gambling industries.

Temporary limitations

Please be aware that as the facio.social platform continues to grow and develop, it may be necessary for Facio Creative to temporarily limit the number of new accounts created. This may include limiting account creation to only invited creatives.
