Account verification
To protect our users from spam and abuse, and to maintain the integrity of the platform, facio.social requires all members to verify their identity before accessing certain features, including the option to enable their professional profile or post a review of an organisation.
If you have joined facio.social using a valid invite code, your account will be automatically verified within 48 hours, otherwise you must verify your account within 30 days of becoming a member. If you do not verify your account within this time, we may delete your account without notice.
About verification

You can identify whether a facio.social member is verified by the badge that appears on their profile and posts.
Purple
Purple verification badges are the standard verification badges given to facio.social members who have joined the platform in a personal capacity, and verify that the member has verified their identity.
Blue
Blue verification badges appear on accounts belonging to organisations, and verify that we have authenticated the account as genuine. Organisation accounts are only verified after the individual responsible for running the account has also verified their own identity.
Pink
Pink verification badges appear on accounts belonging to individual products, and verify that we have authenticated the account as genuine. Project accounts are only verified after the individual responsible for running the account has also verified their own identity.
Red
Red verification badges indicate that an account is either managed by or directly associated with facio.social. In addition to accounts we run as part of our service, red badges also appear on the moderator accounts of the facio.social team.
Gold
Gold verification badges appear in place of purple, blue and pink badges, and verify the same. However, they only appear on accounts associated or affiliated with facio.social or Facio Creative. In addition to the personal accounts of our team, projects we're responsible for, and members of our board, Gold badges may also be given to those who have contributed to the platform in some way.
Organisation badges
Alongside verification badges, some accounts may also have an organisation badge on their profile. These badges indicate that a member or project has verified their affiliation with that organisation.

As part of our ongoing measures to maintain the integrity of the platform, we may occasionally require you to re-verify your identity or eligibility for a facio.social account.
Verify your account
To verify your facio.social account, you must provide us proof of your identity, date of birth, and if relevant, use of your professional name. If you are managing the account for somebody aged under sixteen, you must also provide us with additional information to verify your relationship to that person.
Verify your identity and date of birth
To verify your identity and date of birth, you must upload a clear photo or scan of your photographic government issued identification (such as a passport or drivers license) and a photo of yourself holding that same identification next to your face. It doesn't matter if the identification has expired, so long as the photo still looks like you.

Verify your professional name
To verify your professional name, you must upload a document, screenshot or photo that shows use of the name in a regular and professional setting. This could be in the form of a membership card, screenshot of an online profile, poster or programme listing your name, or other document which shows you using the name.

Verify your relationship
If you manage this account on behalf of somebody aged under sixteen, as part of the verification process, you must confirm your relationship and upload a document that verifies their identity. If you are not the legal parent or guardian of the person, you must also upload a signed letter from a legal parent or guardian that grants you consent to manage the account on the child's behalf.
